Assistive Tech Consult $100 / hour

Extended equipment trials, multi-device software configuration tracking, or specialized environmental navigation matching billed at an additional prorated rate of $25 per 15 minutes, up to a maximum total cap of $600.

What are OT/ATP services?
Occupational Therapy and Assistive Technology Professional services involves evaluating and applying specialized tools and technology to improve an individual's functional capabilities and independence in daily life.
Who is eligible for these services?
We work with individuals of all ages, educational institutions, and healthcare providers who require guidance on occupational therapy strategies and complex assistive technology needs. Please complete our contact form and we'll schedule a 20 minute discovery call to discuss your specific needs and outline a plan tailored to your goals.
How does private pay billing work?
We charge an hourly rate for services which allows us to provide timely care without the restrictions often imposed by most insurances. In most cases, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement. To ensure services remain accessible across our community, we are committed to equity and offer a number of sliding-scale slots based on financial need.
Service Area & Travel Policy
On-site visits for locations within a 30-minute driving of central Richmond are included and areas outside of this area require a travel fee. We also offer comprehensive virtual consultations, setup guidance, and follow-up support via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth for clients anywhere.
Who We Are
Our story
Axle Therapies began with the core reason I chose this field, to help people. While volunteering in the rehabilitation community for a college course at VCU, I watched an occupational therapist fabricate a custom mouthpiece for a paintbrush so a woman with a spinal cord injury could paint again. That single moment showed me the power of adaptive tools and defined my career path.
As a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) and RESNA-certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), my career spans over two decades supporting individuals with disabilities across the lifespan. This includes working in pediatrics in public schools and private settings, to veterans, to adults living with ALS, locked-in syndrome, and strokes who all rely on alternative augmentative communication (AAC) systems, mobility devices, and computer access supports. Having worked extensively in complex rehab technology, alternate access options, augmentative communication, and specialized clinical non-profits, I understand the importance of pairing your needs with functional hardware and software solutions.
